Deferred Entry of Judgment Classes
Bilingual Family Counseling Service, Inc., serves the residents of San Bernardino County with the Deferred Entry of Judgment (DEJ), P.C. 1000 drug diversion class for the standard fee set by the County.
Child Abuse Treatment
A regional partnership between Bilingual Family Counseling Service ~ Catholic Charities ~ Center for Healing Childhood Trauma. A range of child abuse treatment services are provided to families and children who qualify
Eligibility criteria in order of priority are:
- Current involvement in the Children and Family Services or Foster Care system.
- Past involvement in the Children and Family Services or Foster Care system.
- Families experiencing extreme stress or challenges, which put the stability of the family at righ-risk.
Services are provided at no cost to those who qualify.
The following services are offered:
- Individual and family counseling
- Parenting skills classes
- Anger Management groups for adults and children
- Information and referral services
- Support groups
- Domestic violence counseling
- Sexual abuse treatment
- Life skills training groups
- Team Decision Making (hosting and participation)
School-Based Counseling Services
Bilingual Family Counseling Service, Inc., provides on-campus counseling services to children and families who attend Alta Loma School District and Ontario-Montclair School District. Services Include:
- Crisis response
- Individual and group counseling
- Case management on-site at Family Solutions Collaborative and Montclair Community Collaborative
- Conflict resolution groups
Mental Health Prevention & Early Intervention
The Prevention and Early Intervention Program of BFCS is also known as Project H.E.L.P. (Consiguiendo Ayuda) Healing, Education, Living with Purpose. This program is a partnership between Bilingual Family Counseling Service, Inc. & Samaritan Counseling Center This new mental health program targets Transitional Aged Youth and adults experiencing first break mental illness or who have received first diagnosis within the last 12 months. This population will be targeted for early intervention services including short-term mental health services (counseling and case management). Families of TAY and adults who are experiencing early onset symptoms will also be targeted for psycho-education. Presentations, screenings and mental health education will target un-served, underserved or inappropriately served residents who may have experienced trauma, discrimination, or are high risk. The program services are free and will target the western region of San Bernardino County. Services are offered in both English and Spanish, and will include:
- Short-term counseling
- Psycho-educational groups
- Information dissemination, referral and linkage
- Community workshops and presentations
Case Management Services
BFCS has provided case management services for local school- and city-linked collaborative partners in the West Valley. Case managers are trained to provide the following services to identified high-risk families: home visits, assessment of basic needs, parenting education, referral services, linkage and advocacy. Case managers work with hundreds of families, connecting them to local social services. Our current case managers are housed at our Ontario clinic site, Family Solutions Collaborative, and Montclair Community Collaborative.
